Chinese New Year (aka Solar New Year) is celebrated by millions of people across the globe. In China, the dragon is a traditional symbol for good luck, longevity and wisdom; hence, the dragon dance is the highlight of many festive processions.
Today, we’ll take our arty inspiration from Terri Kelleher’s Chinese New Year, a dynamic depiction of the dragon dance which uses acrylic inks. Our mixed-media dragon pictures will combine collage and paint-splatter effects with vibrant colours and freeform techniques for some fun-filled artistry. This celebratory creative class will certainly get us all fired up for the coming new year!
