This week is all about… Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year (or Solar New Year) is a magical celebration that’s observed by people all over the world. It’s a time for gift-giving, well-wishes, feasting and outdoor parades, and it provides us with stacks of fun activity ideas! This week, we’re painting dragon dancers, crafting hongbao (lucky envelopes) and even going on an adventure with all the animals of the Chinese zodiac!
Today we will be… Creating splattered dragons inspired by Terri Kelleher
Gong Xi Fa Cai! Prosperity and joy to all in the new year! Today little ones will learn about Chinese New Year by participating in an adapted ‘Lo Hei’ activity. Lo Hei brings friends and family around the table and involves mixing and tossing ingredients to make a sensational slaw-style dish associated with luck and good fortune. Our special Lo Hei will use a mix of colourful noodles, keeping our activity safe for all and oozing with oodles of fun. After tossing the ‘slaw’ and sharing a few well-wishes, little ones will decorate a simple ‘hongbao’ red envelope to bring home.
A grown-up must accompany little ones to this class, but on the booking, please only book your child in (10 class credits).
If you can no longer make the class, please let us know. We have a 24 hour cancellation policy – any class cancelled out with that window, will be charged.
